When I hear you say, “it’s nothing personal, only business”, is that supposed to serve as an apology? Am I meant to be happy that your business requires me to be hurt?
Next time you are tempted to utter those words, just say “I am sorry” instead.
I have lost count of the number of times I have heard people talk about how they will do things the same way all over again if they had a chance to relive it.
My next question is always “why?”
How about those who feel they’ve invested so much in a particular project and they just weary themselves out daily even when they ain’t seeing results. Things don’t work that way. Sometimes you have to lose to gain and move forward just like I changed the needle.
Sometimes, the faux pas wasn’t exactly career ending. Or it doesn’t go viral. Instead, it is the response of the celeb that caused more damage, rather than provide damage control.
Sunk cost fallacy is a phenomenon where somebody justifies an increased investment of money or other resources based on the cumulative prior investment (the sunk costs), despite new evidence suggesting that the cost of continuing now outweighs the expected benefit.
Feeling remorseful or regret is not a sign of weakness. It is simply being human. Know that others have been where you are and still gone on to do better.
