I find it ludicrous that General Pype’s Victorious Man video has less than fifty thousand views on YouTube. It breaks a little part of my heart that General Pype is still being slept on by Nigeria.
From dropping the chorus on M.I Abaga’s Teaser to Champion Remix that featured the late Dagrin and other awesome acts, General Pype has grown a lot as one of the best reggae artiste on the continent.
Victorious Man is a legit hustler music, suited to get your Mondays bubbling. It is filled with upbeat and self-motivating lyrics. It gives you a reason and more reasons to keep going at it and not quit.
Del-B gives us a very melodious instrumental, and the horn sessions does make it even more distinctly pleasant.
I still find it hard to believe that the video for Victorious Man, despite being tastefully and artistically crafted doesn’t have way more views. The video does a great job of interpreting the lyrics, showing the struggles of a young boy that ends as a beautiful Success Story.
I hope Victorious Man gets you to do something special this week.
