Since I now know that there isn’t much I can do regarding my finances until either I earn more or the economy gets better, I have decided to focus on what is within my power.
I must get my finance in order.
It takes a lot of guts or foolhardiness to try and push the boundaries with maximum scammable amount. But if you pull it off, it is worth the effort.
At the same time, if it ever sounds too good to be true, it is probably not true.
A fact many motivational speakers fail to touch on is that talent, ideas, and inspiration is often useless without funds.
And when its uselessness gets critical, it can grow until it becomes frustrating, saddening, and depressing.
Thankfully, understanding that the phase of “recipes without ingredients” is one that if properly maneuvered, eventually passes, is a hope that is life saving.
The only problem with having a sweet tooth, champagne taste, and desire for the good things of life, is that your pocket must be weighty.
Right now, my account status and my heart desires are not in the same tax bracket.
Time and again, I have seen people live out the saying that, “when all you have is a hammer, all your problems start looking like nails”.
Late last year, I was in conversation with an acquaintance and he asked me, “where is your money? Why aren’t you wealthy?”
The person in question can be categorized as rich. And I know him well enough to know that he didn’t ask the question as an insult.
I should preface this by stating that my financial life has been a big mess.
So when I wish you a happy financial new year, you would do well by wishing me the same.
How can I do this? How much do I even have in my account? How much does she think I earn monthly?
I would have just given up and moved on to the next girl, but this is the love of my life we are talking about here. Will you have let her go if you were in my shoes?
Funny thing is I know people who live their lives daily, talking about if I get money eh, before listing out an endless stream of things they intend to do immediately they have money. Interestingly, they have no plan in place on how to make said money.
The level of ridiculousness I have witnessed in Nigeria, in terms of usage of tax payers money is quite baffling.
