Yes, They Are Spoilt. And So? – Josh Journal
I do not understand the fascination of older people with how spoilt the younger generation is.
This is not a piece about not policing the morals of the younger generation. As a matter of fact, I am very big on preaching morals.
What I don’t understand is how people can comfortably blame the abuse of a minor on how spoilt teenagers of these days are.
When you were a teenager, what were you up to?
Yes, you were the innocent one. I was too. But I know what my peers and friends were doing. What were your own peers doing?
Do you honestly believe the younger generation is any more morally inferior to your generation?
If social media was this much available in your teenage years, what do you think will have the most likes? Which celebrity would have the most follows?
Is your generation any less interested in naked bodies than the spoilt children of nowadays?
How many of your classmates and friends from school tried to borrow that one adult magazine someone sneaked into school or to the children church?
If that was a sex clip or nude picture on a phone, wouldn’t you all have shared it too? How is that different from the teenagers of today?
How many adults will lock themselves up if they heard that a video of them from a party in their teenage years somehow surfaced?
There is a difference between saying something out of concern and saying the same thing because you believe the other person is beneath you.
Teenagers of every generation will always find and create their vices. Hopefully, they don’t cross over into areas of illegality.
Adults taking advantage of their naivety, inquisitiveness, and power imbalance meanwhile will always be morally and legally wrong.
Young girls and boys of nowadays are very spoilt, agreed. Kindly leave them alone to be spoilt with boys and girls of their age. They did not ask for your old ass to help on their journey of being spoilt.
Even if you got their consent before having sex and didn’t actually force them, that is still statutory rape.
“Taking advantage” of a spoilt child will always be illegal. Even if they were posturing or asking for it. Even if they did the “asking out” or “seducing“, you as the adult will always be on the wrong side of the law.
The law will be the least of your worries if the “spoilt child” happens to be the child of someone who has little room for conversations and explanations.
