With Or Without Faith – ML DEVOTIONAL

It is a mystery how two people will look at the same thing and see different things. Staring at a bouquet of flowers, some people will see a burst of colors, symmetrical and asymmetrical patterns, and get hit with magnificent scents.
Others will look at the same bouquet and only see fleshy petals, sticky stems, and be irritated by the pungent smell.
In the same vein, taking a look at the mechanics of the universe, the migratory patterns of animals, two seas meeting and not mixing, the splendor of the stars and galaxies, and the minuteness of humanity in the vastness of the universe.
I look at all of these and I can appreciate the handiwork of a Master Architect, a Passionate Craftsman, a Perfect Composer, a Seasoned Engineer, and a Dedicated Lover.
Someone else looks at it and sees only chance and randomness.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)

If you choose to have a relationship with this Person that is both powerful enough to create a world like ours, yet detailed oriented enough to balance out every aspect of it, visible and invisible, then you must believe in His existence.
It is easier to believe in only the physical. But considering the number of things we experience and appreciate without seeing, from gravity to wind, space, time, emotions, and others, doesn’t that interest you in the possibility of the existence of an All-Knowing, All-Powerful, Ageless and Ever-Present God?
As much as you seek God, He seeks you even more. He knows you exist, He knows everything about you. He loves you in more ways than anyone can explain. He wants to be a part of your life.

The presence of God in one’s life is a reward for faith in him, which is more valuable than any tangible thing. If you know God, but you have not experienced, and you can’t feel the sweetness of His presence, you are doing it wrong.
The promise of His presence is one we can only enjoy by faith in Him, but it is one that once we have it, we will never want to spend a minute without it.
It is possible to be a good and moral person, a gentleman’s gentleman, a paragon of ladylikeness, a definition of human perfection. But if God is lacking in that life, the feeling of incompleteness will be present there.
Faith makes it possible to please God. It makes our quest for perfection easier. It gives us the strength to sail through the highs and lows of life more easily. It helps us value God’s creation, most importantly, our fellow humans.

The biggest benefit of faith in God is knowing that life on Earth doesn’t end when our eyes shut in death. Rather, we open them into an even more perfect world.
A world free of worries, pain, fear, lack, hatred, sins, struggles and death.
Have faith in God. Trust in His ability to keep you in His way, His will and His word.
