A famous man once said, “may our loyalty not be tested.”
I can’t help but say this, may our grace, our forgiving spirit, and our ability to forget, never be tested.
First is a letter to the editor of the Lacon Illinois Gazette which had published said rumor, then is a letter to the populace of Illinois.
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
‘ Or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!
Love your neighbor as your self is a biblical injunction given by Christ Jesus himself. It is one of two new summary laws, with the other being that you should love the Lord God and worship no other God but him.
espect is the foundational principle by which everything positive in life is built on. Loving your neighbour as yourself requires respecting them.
So my Dear Unborn Child, I want you to know that every rule has an exception and the weather sometimes is the rule and not the paper. If you ever want to be a learned man like me, then you must first seek “Patience”. This singular virtue can make or mar you.
