Resonance by Chinwe Ike is a timeless musical piece. I can’t remember exactly when I first heard it, but I do know that I fell in love with it right away and that love never waned.

Chinwe Ike was someone who just showed up on the Nigerian music scene and can best be described as a piece of “God sent fresh air”. She was beautiful and her voice was a marvel.

The lady indeed could sing. Estar was probably the first Nigerian musician who didn’t get outshined by 2 Face Idibia on a collaborative piece.

The remix of Resonance in which she featured 2 Face was so good, it gave us hope that she was here for the long haul. I am saddened by the fact that we didn’t get to enjoy more of her vocal prowess.

I still go on her YouTube Channel occasionally to see if she drops something new. I hope one of these days, my disappointment will turn to elation.

In the meantime, I am making do with Vique’s cover of Resonance with piano accompaniment from Mac Roc. I believe Estar would be pleased by this cover if she gets to hear it.

I do look forward to hearing more from Vique too.
