Let Us Sell Nigeria – YMCMPP
There is a rising sentiment among Nigerians that the government should sell the country, share the proceeds, so we can all move on with our lives.
Despite how funny that sounds, a ridiculous amount of people are actually buying more into the idea daily.
When successive governments have failed in educating its populace, the laughable suddenly seems feasible. As our Yoruba kindreds will say, the child that is not well taught will eventually sell off everything in the house.
Even if we were to find a willing buyer, can we trust any government to sell Nigeria and fairly share the money to us all?
Before we go on arguing about selling Nigeria, shouldn’t we ask after the money we have made from previous privatization of national assets? Shouldn’t we audit the proceeds from all the barrels of oil we have sold?
Nigeria holds a great future, which can only be brought to fruition by putting the right people at the helm of affairs. The best of us should lead the rest of us.
If we insist on selling Nigeria though, I am quite sure we at the YMCMPP can broker the deal. Zuckerberg, Gates and Bezos might be interested after all. Our twenty-five percent commission might seem high, but it does cover after-sales service.
