JOSHUA’S NOTE – Attitude: The Favoured Slave (Genesis 39:1-6)
People who inspire others are those who see invisible bridges at the end of dead-end streets. – Charles Swindoll.
You can strive to be a winner if you maintain a positive mind-set and a heart that is faithful to God, regardless of your circumstances.
Despite humankind’s gross unfaithfulness, God is faithful. He moulds and disciplines His children. He shows persistent, unwearied love and matchless grace – grace that is absolutely undeserved.
God always provides, and He always knows best. Sometimes, we only have to wait for God’s plan to become visible to us.
An unwavering trust in God and His sovereignty goes a long way toward helping us maintain a positive attitude when hard times hit.
When life gets weird and our trials seem bigger than mountains, the knowledge that God allows challenges for a reason is a comfort.
Having the right attitude makes a huge difference.
We can fix our eyes on our circumstances or cling to God and choose to worship Him, even when it hurts. – Matt Redman.
No man is worthy to succeed until he is willing to fail. – A.W. Tozer.
Saint Augustine’s Prayer For Freedom:
Almighty God, in whom we live and move and have our being, who hast made us for Thyself, so that our hearts are restless till they rest in thee: Grant us purity of heart and strength of purpose, that no selfish passion may hinder us from knowing thy will, no weakness from doing it; but that in thy light we may see light clearly, and in thy service find perfect freedom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Too often, contemporary Christian culture is a result of following trends, rather than following Christ.
Being a Christian means that you:
- Agree that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9-10)
- Repent of your sins and ask Him to forgive your sins (Acts 3:19, 13:38)
- You take up your cross daily and follow Jesus (Luke 9:23-24)
